What's the difference between a Master Groomer and a Dog Groomer?

A Master Groomer is a highly experienced and skilled professional in all aspects of pet grooming. They must have a minimum of 5 years pet grooming experience.

A Dog Grooming Stylist specialises in creating stylish and breed-specific looks for dogs.

A Pet Grooming Furologist has general skills and experience, and focuses on the overall health and well-being of your pet’s coat and skin.

How often should I bring my pet for grooming?
The frequency of grooming depends on your pet’s breed, coat type, and lifestyle.

Generally, we recommend grooming every 4-8 weeks to keep your pet healthy and looking great.

When you are in the DOG SALON with your pet, our groomers can recommend a personalised grooming schedule based on your pet’s needs.

How do I prepare my pet for their grooming appointment?

To prepare your pet for grooming, make sure they are clean and free of any ticks or fleas.

If your pet is particularly anxious, a walk before the appointment can help them relax.

Feel free to bring along any special shampoos or conditioners that your pet requires.

Can I stay with my pet during the grooming session?

No pet owners can not stay for the groom.  Although we are very happy to show our customers around the Salon so they can see where their pooch will have their treatment.

Our insurance does not allow customers to be present for the groom, and only covers our employees.

It’s for the best that you are not there… as your pooch loves you, they will wiggle and move around if they can see you, trying to get close to you.  This is not safe while we are grooming. It is best to drop off your pooch at their scheduled appointment time, and then come back when the treatment is finished.

Also for the safety and comfort of all pets, we request that owners do not stay during the grooming session. This helps minimise distractions and allows our groomers to focus on providing the best care.

If you have specific concerns, please discuss them with us.

What if my pet has special needs or health issues?

Our team is trained to handle pets with various special needs and health issues.

Please inform us of any specific conditions or requirements when booking your appointment, so we can accommodate your pet’s needs and ensure their comfort and safety.

Will you express my dog’s anal glands?
No we do not express anal glands. This is something that should be done by a vet and not a groomer.
Will we pluck your dogs ear hair?
Yes we will, as long as your dog is not showing any signs of an infection.

For example, ball of black wax hair, yeasty smell, redness or yelps when hair is removed. We will not put your dog through pain to complete this process.

Hair in the ear canal should come out easily and not be smelly or full of a wax like substance. If we are unable to remove hair and the ear may look like it has an infection, we will advise you so you can seek veterinary treatment.
